Apostle
Virges Pearson is the founder and senior pastor of Charity Church The Church
That Christ Built in Fayetteville, NC. With more than 30 years in ministry,
Apostle Pearson is committed to bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to
people all over the world. His journey to the place that God has him
now has been one driven driven by faith in God alone.
On October
11, 1974, at the tender age of 22, Virges Pearson accepted the Lord Jesus
Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at Faith Deliverance
Center under the
leadership of pastor Dorothy Smith.
In 1975, through his dedication to the Lord and vision of the church, he was
"called" to minister and ordained.
In 1981, Apostle Carmicheal ordained
Minister Pearson to the office of an "Elder". In addition to
receiving his Elder's Credentials, Elder Pearson was appointed to
Pastor and he along with his family relocated from their home in New Haven and was sent to pastor Faith
Tabernacle Deliverance
Center located at 525 Gillespie Street in Fayetteville, North
Carolina. This would prove to be a wilderness
experience for Pastor Pearson and his family. for the next two and a
half years, they would have to endure all types of obstacles, but through it
all their battle cry was "Faith in God." Their faith was
tested, and they had to make some tough choices. One tough choice was whether
to close down the church or give up their home and move into the back of the
church so that the ministry could continue. Because Pastor Pearson and
his wife Brenda trusted God, they gave up their home in Lake Point and moved
into the church. Through it all they continued to walk by faith and
never complained.
In 1984, God called Pastor Pearson out to
begin Charity Church The Church That Christ Built Inc., which started from
house to house fellowship and has grown into what you see today by the Grace
of God.
During the same time of building a sanctuary
for Charity Church , God was also building the Man
of God. He had two churches that were under his leadership. April
10, 1988, Bishop D. D. McKinnon ordained Pastor Pearson
"Overseer". After starting a third church, Overseer Pearson
was ordained to the office of "Bishop" by Bishop D. D.
McKinnon. Through Bishop Pearson's continual dedication to the lord and
the ministry, the Lord once again elevated Bishop Pearson to the office of
Apostle on August 12, 2000.
The Lord has continued to bless Apostle
Pearson and Charity Church The Church That Christ Built Inc. Under
Apostle Pearson leadership, this organization has expanded from Fayetteville, North Carolina
to St. Roberts, Missouri,
Elizabethtown N.C.,
East St. Louis, Illinois,
Belleville, Illinois,
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
and Hanau, Germany.
