On November 18, 1974, at the tender age of 21, Brenda
Pearson accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at
Faith
Deliverance
Center
under the leadership of Pastor Dorothy Smith. 1975,
through her dedication to the Lord and vision of the church, she was
“called" into the ministry.
In 1981, Apostle Hugh Carmichael ordained Minister Pearson
"Prophetess". They left their home in New
Haven and were sent to Faith
Tabernacle Deliverance
Center located at 525
Gillespie Street in Fayetteville, North
Carolina, where her husband presided as the
Pastor. This would prove to be a wilderness experience for Prophetess
Pearson and her family. For the next two and a half years they would
have to endure all types of obstacles, but through it all their battle cry
was "Faith In God". Their faith was
tested, and they had to make some tough choices. One tough choice they
had to make was whether to close down the church or give up their home and
move into the back of the church so that the ministry could continue.
Because Prophetess Pearson and her husband Virges
trusted God, they gave up their home in Lake Point and moved into the
church. Through it all they continued to walk by faith and never
complained.
In 1984, God called Prophetess Pearson and her husband out to begin Charity
Church The Church That Christ Built Inc. The ministry started from a
house-to-house fellowship and has grown into what you see today by the grace
of God.
During the same time of building a sanctuary for Charity Church, God was also building the
Woman of God. Behind the scenes, Prophetess Pearson held steadfast to
her faith in God. While her husband was busy handling the affairs of
the church, she was busy maintaining the affairs of their home where she established
a wholesome environment as a strong, caring mother, raising their children,
and a virtuous woman fulfilling her duties as a wife for her husband.
Truly Proverbs 31 is illustrated in her life and it illuminates the very
essence of her spiritual walk in the Lord. Her contributions to the
ministry have been phenomenal. She continues to be a role model for the
women of Charity
Church to
emulate. She is the "First Lady Of All
First Ladies!"
